Before hiring Katy, what made you decide it was time for a new website?
“I wanted to make the switch from Showit to WordPress for at least two years. I knew I could have more control over my website with WordPress, and the Kadence Theme, in particular, was lightweight and could improve site speed. When my SEO started dropping drastically last year and stayed low despite my efforts, I figured there were no more excuses for not switching to WordPress.”
How did you initially hear about Katy & why did you choose to work with her over all of the other options?
“I posted in the Kadence Facebook group looking for a website designer who could take my current Showit website and translate it into a Kadence website. Katy responded! I spoke with her and a few other website developers and ended up deciding that Katy was the best fit because she:
- Had a clear knowledge of the platform

- Instigated an initial video chat to talk about my goals

What do you love most about the website?
“Katy did a stellar job of matching my current design in the Kadence theme builder. It is still the design I love but in a better platform. I love having more control over things like site speed and plugins.”
How do you think the new website will impact/ improve your business?
“With only two-ish weeks since launching, we have already seen a gradual increase in our organic traffic and starting to see more leads!”
As a result of your new website design, what transformation have you seen in your business or what did you learn from working with Katy?
“I went from being concerned about my SEO feeling like improvements were out of control to feeling confident in the ability to make changes that will improve my marketing strategy long-term. Katy was also very helpful with giving me the reasoning and her opinion behind why or why not to do things a certain way. I really appreciate her knowledge and expertise and her support through this process.”
What was your favorite part about working together?
“Katy was very organized and professional, and I always knew exactly what was needed of me and where she was in the process. I was also surprised by how helpful she was after the website launch. Katy did a video with my team, giving us the ins and outs of Kadence and making changes. She also provided follow-up support the few weeks after launch and was always helpful and willing to help.”
If you were to talk about how you felt about your business and website before working together, how would you compare the two?
“Before working with Katy, I loved my design, but I felt concerned about my website’s performance and SEO efforts. After working with Katy, I feel relieved to see improvements in organic search results only within the first few weeks. And I know there is so much more I can still do now.”
